Animal Crossing

If catching bugs, fishing, and playing Excitebike on your GBA doesn't sound like a good time, I don't know what does!

One of the most anticipated games for me this year has been Animal Crossing. It really is a game that you can just sit down, relax, and take your time playing. Unfortunately, this formula doesn't work well on the show floor at E3, so a little mayhem works best as well.

I started off with a fishing pole, so I ran to the nearest water front and started casting. Little did I know that you need to be able to see a shadow of a fish underwater, so I caught nary a fish. The rep pointed this out to me, so soon enough, I went to the docks, and caught myself a grand fish! Simplistic, but fun at the same time.

I had seen someone earlier catching bugs, and wanted to catch some of my own. I donned my bug catching net, and went on the hunt. Catching bugs is not something easy in the winter, I'll tell you this much. However, I found out that it's always summer on the special GBA-enabled island, so I made my way over, caught the boat, and headed off to sea.

Once on the island, the rep showed me a few of the features on the island, pointed me out a bug, and I ran after to catch it...only for it to fly away. I saw another bug, and this time walked slowly up to it, aimed my shot, and got him.

After my time on the island, I went home to the mainland, running off a hot tip that there was playable NES games waiting for me in my house. When I arrived, I went over to the NES, started it up, and was given an option of what game to play. Not only that, I was given the option to play it on the GBA as well! With this feature, you can upload an NES game to your GBA, unplug it from the Gamecube, and take the game to go. It is saved to the internal memory, so if you switch off the GBA, the NES game is lost. There is a sleep mode though, so you can use that feature if you choose.

With the time I spent with the game, I am really excited about this game being released in the US. Little details for every instance, and lots of Connectivity features with the GBA make this an even more anticipated game for when it comes out later this year.
