Even more information about Harmonix's latest Rock Band game.

While some information was confirmed at Microsoft’s press conference on Monday, there is still more new information about The Beatles: Rock Band.

It will feature a three-part harmony section that will allow up to six players to play at once. Each person can sing whatever they want without much penalty, but to score really well you have to each sing your specific part. It is divided into a high part, a middle part, and a low part and has a different on-screen presentation than previous Rock Bands. When the parts’ lyrics are different, the top part of the vocal track will display high part, the middle will display the middle part, and the lower part will display the low part. Also, singers are scored individually for how well they sing the main part, and also how well they sing their own part within the harmonies.

In addition to the new vocal addition, there are some other updates as well. No Fail Mode can be easily toggled on the instrument select screen and is now always activated on the Easy difficulty. There is also a countdown for whenever players return from the pause menu mid-song.

The game has received a style shift as it is now a slightly trippy Beatles interface instead of the classic Rock Band one. There will be 45 songs and numerous venues, including Shea Stadium, the Rooftop Concert, Buddhacon, and the Ed Sullivan Theater. In addition, there are Dreamscapes for Beatles songs without an iconic venue. For example, "Back in the U.S.S.R." features a lot of Soviet imagery, "Octopus’ Garden" takes place underwater, and "Here Comes the Sun" takes place on a hillside.

All of the songs and venues will be available right away in Quickplay. There is a story mode that follows The Beatles through their career and limits your songs and venues until you progress through it.

The Beatles: Rock Band is set for a September 9 release worldwide.
