Spyborgs returns with a new look and brand new gameplay details.
When Spyborgs was first revealed last year it caused a stir with its Saturday morning aesthetics and characters. The fan reaction was so strong that the game was put on hold for a year so Bionic Games, Spyborgs’ developers, could re-design the title to have a more pleasing look.
A year has passed, and Spyborgs has resurfaced at Capcom’s Captivate 09 event with a new trailer and gameplay details. As promised, Spyborgs will be an action beat‘em-up set in a futuristic world that allows two-player co-op gameplay that has players controlling a team of cybernetic heroes in pursuit of a former comrade turned traitor.
Players choose two of the three Spyborg characters. The Wii Remote is used to shoot and pummel hordes of mechanized enemies, and link combos together in style. In single player mode, gamers switch between two characters, while in co-op one player controls each character. The game is comprised of over thirty-five stages, complete with epic boss battles.
Alongside action-packed gameplay and its co-op mode, Capcom and Bionic Games promise that Spyborgs will have an achievement system that tracks the player’s accomplishments, as well as allows them to unlock bonus content like videos and artwork. The game also looks to have some of the best graphics on Wii yet.
Spyborgs is set to rock players’ worlds this fall.
