Saving the world is not an issue if you're a chicken.
ACE AND THE INTERGALACTIC BATTLE BARN CREW TAKE TO THE SOLAR SYSTEM TO SAVE
EARTH
"Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace in Action" Now Available for the
PlayStation(R)2 System and Nintendo DS(TM)
BURBANK, Calif. – (November 21, 2006) – When it comes to saving Earth, a
buff chicken, a beautiful duckling and a powerful hog are up to the
challenge. Based on the ending of the box office hit film, “Chicken
Little," the "Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace in Action" video games from
Buena Vista Games are now available in the United States for the
PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo DS(TM).
Featuring characters from the “movie within a movie" ending of the film, in
which Chicken Little and his misfit friends are represented by over-the-top
Hollywood action hero versions of themselves, "Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace
in Action" takes the crew to Pluto, Saturn, Venus and the moon to try to
defeat notorious villains -- Foxy Loxy, Goosey Loosey and Sleazel Weasel.
“'Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace in Action' provided an exciting opportunity
for our team to expand beyond the ending of the film and create a brand new
story with great new characters and vibrant space environments," said John
Blackburn, vice president and general manager of Avalanche Software, a Buena
Vista Games studio. “Action-hero Ace is ideally suited to star in this
high-octane action game."
"Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace in Action" allows players to traverse detailed
interstellar locales with an assortment of out-of-this-world weaponry and
unique vehicles. Gamers play as Ace on foot, Abby in a spaceship and Runt
as a tank commander. In the PlayStation 2 system version, the original
Chicken Little character and his friends appear in cut scenes and provide
commentary. Adam West ("Ace"), Zach Braff ("Chicken Little") and Joan
Cusack (original "Abby") reprise their film roles as the voices of their
characters. Humorous original cut scenes were written and created by
Avalanche Software, the game’s developers.
Incorporating a 3D top-down view, the Nintendo DS version of "Disney’s
Chicken Little: Ace in Action" takes advantage of the dual screens and
wireless multiplayer capability of the system.
Developed by Avalanche Software, a Buena Vista Games studio, the PlayStation
2 system version is rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and older by the
Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB). Developed by DC Studios, the
Nintendo DS version is rated E for Everyone. Both versions are now
available for a suggested retail price of $29.99. A version for the Wii(TM)
will be available in December for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
"Disney’s Chicken Little: Ace in Action" marks the third video game
appearance for the Chicken Little character. The 2005 game, "Disney’s
Chicken Little," which has shipped more than 1 million units worldwide, was
nominated by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences(R) as a finalist
for the prestigious Interactive Achievement Award(R) in the category of
Children’s Game of the Year. The Chicken Little character also appeared in
"KINGDOM HEARTS II," the top-selling action role-playing game from Square
Enix, Inc. and Buena Vista Games.
