That's because you know what my little finger can do.

Take a trip back in time to the simpler, carefree days of last month when the whole crew assembled for a good old-fashioned episode of RFN, only for it to be lost in a tangled web of forgetfulness and ineptitude, until now...

Jonny starts off the show with some good news from his life outside the website, but it doesn't take long before we jump into a big New Business. Greg brings up some Jungle Beat news, Jon hates on Line Rider 2, and James is lukewarm on Assassin's Creed. Jonny catches up on two week's worth of games, with reports on Sam & Max, Spider-Man, Penny Arcade Adventures, Rotohex, and Dead Space. Whew!

Listener Mail is back in full force -- thanks to everyone who sent an email! Your great letters lead us into discussions of under-appreciated games, disturbing moments in otherwise cheerful games, comparative reviews, and the future of head-tracking applications on Wii (or Wii 2). Please keep up the great correspondence; you know the address!

Notice to all our listeners. We've updated the feed we use for the podcast. If you have issues make sure you're using the new feed. If that doesn't work feel free to ask in the talkback thread, and we'll help you out.

Pikmin was disturbing on so many levels, the world was just so organic that you actually cared about what happened to your pikmin and the stuff in the level. The sound that pikmin make when drowning is haunting. Majora's Mask was creepy. The music that you get from the dancing mask is creepy, also every time you put on a transforming mask is creepy. From Twilight Princess the part where ganon breaks zant's neck or whatever the hell it is that happens at that scene. I'll have to give it more thought, but I know there are more creepy gaming moments.

GoldenPhoenixDecember 16, 2008

I found that Canon house that shoots you to the desert in Twilight Princess to be creepy along with that guy who owned it. Also Bowser falling into the lave in NSMB and having his skin burnt off was quite surprising.

BTW, even if everything seems just fine with the podcast, you should check to make sure your podcast reader is grabbing the RFN feed from:

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/podcast/feed.xml

Right now the old URL sends a 301 permanent redirection message. If you don't update your URL, you may have a ticking time bomb. Eventually, the old URL will not work at all, and then the RFN feed magically will not work for you any more! The same goes for the new Radio Trivia URL. iTunes should update the saved URL automatically, but other programs, like Winamp, don't.

The podcast was delivered to me this morning with 4 other new podcasts, and I listened to you guys FIRST!  And there was some decent competition in there too, 1up FM, ESPN, Radio Lab and the infamous Crash TV!

Keep up the good work fellas!

I can't wait until I can pester Jonny over AIM with inane medical questions so that he can correct me by telling me he's "not that kind of doctor."

Hey, thanks for reading my question. It's sad that Brawl is seen as a disappointment in a lot of people's eyes due to the bad online play. It's a valid criticism of the game, but it's still a very enjoyable game. Boom Blox has been on my list of games to check out, but haven't yet.

I'll be sure to give a great review for you guys on itunes to help out.

DAaaMan64December 17, 2008

Brawl should not be a dissapointment. Only it's online play. The game itself excels fairly beyond it's predicessors. I really believe this.

broodwarsDecember 17, 2008

You know, it's funny but when I submitted that question about comparative reviews, the section on comparing games in reviews within a franchise was actually meant to bait you guys into a discussion on your previous discussions of the Zelda series.  ^_-  I really consider sports games to be an exception to all this, as they just use literally the same game design document from installment to installment with minor tweaks.

Good episode, though, and great to see it "recovered."

Guys here's the best headtracking video. WATCH IT, start around 2:31 if your in a hurry.

TO the RFN and the rest of the NWR crew two things i can't remember what the email was to PM you guys so I'm posting my question on the forums in hopes it would be read on the next show. My questions are: With the next show coming out during Christmas time what games do you guys not have but hope to get (as presents or buying it yourself) and what Nintendo and non-nintendo games are you looking forward to coming out the next year and why? also with Johnny mentioning him playing Penny Arcade Adventures episode 2 in this episode i just wanted to bring up another funny but disturbing point of the game of what happens when you use the orange item against a certain enemy. Best wishes and merry Christmas to the Rest of the staff and keep up the good work. love the show and always can't wait for the next one to come out. and if Johnny, Jon, and James still play team fortress 2 what are their steam account names. Thart's it thanks and Bye
