On top of that, we've got some fresh news stories for you, including what looks like a strong finish for Virtual Console on the Wii, after a rather lackluster year or so.

Talkback

I was playing X Collection on a Wii as Nathan was talking about X Collection not working on Wii. Heh. Though my setup is composite cables into an SDTV, so I may not be in a position to recreate it.

Well, you know having games might boost sales.  Just saying it.

I think its safe to say anyone listening to this has a Wii.

Don't remember the Super Guide OoT announcement.

That is nice each one likes a different one.  Link Newscast Death Match.

I didn't know about that.  I'm going to have to try that I was playing the Megaman Collection ok.  I still have my cube be interesting finding the cables for it though...

I've got a complaint.  The Stupid Shop.

I'm actually into the discussion as much as the games.

FF:IV has been good so far, I like the story is FF:VI\III similar?

I want to play Earthbound.  I hear so much about it.

Yes.  Did you see the Map in the Talkback thread?

Since it was always a launch game all versions must be buggy.

I got the Extended battery so hopefully my system won't be dead.

Game Killing bugs.

They didn't test it with Wireless lol...

ITS a TRAAAPPPP....

TYP Selling more Nintendo Games than Nintendo

It is a sound treat. I wish more games would have the sound.  While your looking up Nintendo Power stuff also read there comic they did for LttP it is great.  The Metroid one is good as well.  I miss those.

Puzzle Soccer lol.

Its a Soccer game... come on.

I wouldn't mind getting a Micro to have.

GameFreak did Drill Dozer.  Its suppose to be good.

Just get all the game carts that are bigger then you device.

"Hey Cow, Check this out."

Yeah they should of.  Super Swing Golf is fun despites its crippling multiplayer problems.

3DS version of the Virtual Boy Mario Tennis games.

I just got my Third today.  All at the mall.

I'm enjoying Portal 2.  Need to co-op with people.

Lost Viewing...

You meet him at the beginning.

Co-op is suppose to be the same length.  Co-op takes place after the Single Player game.

Yes, play it.  The load times on PS3 for Portal 2 really isn't that bad plus, on the PS3 they give you a code to download it to the PC.  You can't play it on the PS3 and PC at the same time.

I hear that game is meant to be played through for all the endings.

Oh Baby.

Admission is the First step.

Ah... Breaking the 4th wall... Your not floating heads... What will I do.. You are meer mortals.

Sometimes.  I need to play the second Ratchet and Clank for PS3.  Need to just pony up the money...

I need to play Minecraft...

Boy, what do you mean this is a Nintendo oriented podcast.

I like to get my Hand on THAT, lol.

Go Zelda Rap.

lol, Did you all get your Parents to help hook up your Nintendo System?

Its all browns.  Which means the Future is very HD.

It really should be if there going to do what is rumored on the Controllers.  They need the extra power to render those screens.

Rumor has it its going to be 360 original size.

Smoother Running games and 3D driving.

We're passed 10 years on the PS2.

Let me tell you about the Move.  You can't Control the Menues with the pointer in anything I own for Move.  I rest my case.

More Powerful hardware means smoother framerates, better AI, less load times, etc.

Optical Media and Hard Drive have moving parts and that makes them vulnerable to wear and tear.

Go back to Carts.  I really think they should and make a Disc Drive Cart for BC.

lol, Competent online from Nintendo.

Yep, I have a super extender... Its called a Wavebird.

3DS has no online... Me confused.  Its still the GCN strategy you have the Ability for online.

So you guys want to put your guess on the guess Thread?  You can do it as a podcast if you want. (http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/forums/index.php?topic=34112.0)

Pikmin 3 will always be "Next Console"

Their was an offer they couldn't Refuse.

I heard it will make you grow horns or wings do to how you play the system.  If B&W is any indication my Wife will become an angel as my companion but I will be a devil. Who knew sacrificing opposing villagers was bad?

Weird. It's like a quick-stream of the podcast, but it reads like gibberish unless you've listened in already. It's a handy way of remembering what they talked about, though!

Anyhow, to answer your questions, FF VI's story is different in its theme (Redemption--->Faith in Friends and Self) and execution (it's the only post-NES Final Fantasy game where there's really no main character, for starters). I like the characters and story of IV a little bit more, but they're both quite enjoyable. VI generally has better gameplay mechanics, though. If you like IV, you'll like VI, too.

As for Earthbound, I heartily recommend downloading finding a completely legit physical copy of an old game with a limited print run and a rabid fanbase. It's a great game, much better in tone and pacing than its predecessor and sequel.

And yes, 999 almost requires you to get all the endings to get the full experience. Without spoiling anything, the game doesn't even make sense until you've unlocked at least two of them, which is why Andy got worked in his ending (seriously, what follows after the fadeout is completely out of left field...unless you got the Safe ending first).

I'm still working on that second playthrough, nearing the end of it.

I do appreciate that the game tells you how to get the next ending, so you don't have to resort to an FAQ, or just trying them all at random.

That said, Portal 2 and Minecraft are taking up all of my spare time lately, so I don't know if I'll get back to it all that quickly.

Firstly, congratulations for making it to episode 50, a landmark for any podcast. We're starting to enter the season for more news, so may the force be with you in the coming months.

And to Andy: should you need a partner for Portal 2 co-op levels, do let me know, as I'm eager to try that out. I am fairly sure I've got you on my Steam friends list.

Mega Man X Collection works fine on my Wii, connected via component cables to an HDTV. I remember a lot of reports on this issue back when Wii launched... wasn't the answer traced to your TV model? In any case, you can also manually disable progressive scan in the Wii system menu, and that should do the trick if there's some incompatibility.

Killer Man Jaro, I will definitely keep that in mind.

It's my TV model? Shit, I hope not. I've tried disabling progressive scan from the Wii menu, that does nothing. I've tried composite cables. Maybe it is the TV model...well, this would give me an excuse to get a new TV. Or maybe a used GameCube.
