Neal, Zach, Andy and Nathan are back again to discuss the hot stories, hot releases, and... well, tepid downloadable titles on the latest episode of NWR Newscast.

Andy and Neal discuss the hits and misses of NBA Jam, Nathan continues down his very own Etrian Odyssey, and Zach can't wait to talk about Aero The Acrobat on Virtual Console.

In news, the crew talks about n-Space, New York Comic-Con, and the many poor decisions of Sonic Team.

Talkback

Sweet, can't wait to hear about Shantae. Day 1 purchase on 3DS.

Hey Nathan, I just wanted to let you know that after two episodes which reset my iPod whenever I tried to play them, this one plays just fine.

Retro DeckadesOctober 16, 2010

Hahahaha. I didn't mean it like that. I actually just noticed that Andy edited this one. Sorry, Nate.

*sobs in the corner*

First off, I noticed you guys switched to chapters after all, and I have to say that I liked the change.  It also seemed to me like it helped you guys: you guys stayed steady throughout, rather than kind of puttering out of energy towards the end of the second hour.

This is the first I've heard that Capcom will bring 1942 to the VC Arcade.  Sold!  I loved that game, and it's nice to know for sure that a VC game I like is coming sometime in the future.*  I also liked the feature on Shantae.  Sorry I couldn't join in, for lack of a DSi, but it seems like you guys had fun playing and discussing it, at least.  All in all, good work once again!

*Probably WAY into the future.

noname, we've actually had chapters for a long time, it's just that the past two episodes were edited by Nathan, who filled in for me in a pinch.  He doesn't have the software setup to do chapters like I do, so he didn't do that.

Ah, consider me corrected then!  :-[

As an aside, Nathan talked me into buying Etrian Oddysey (sic) three.  Thanks for the recommendation!

Well, I hope you enjoy it noname. If you start getting frustrated, just take the time to map out your current floor and maybe do some sea missions.

As you progress a bit further, make sure that you always have at least three thread to get out of the dungeon (you should unlock that at the item store soon). I suggest three because you may forget and go into the dungeon without one otherwise.

Will do, and thanks.  I was thinking of freeing up an item slot by using the farmer's market ability, but then I realized that my farmer's got a glass jaw, so maybe I shouldn't rely on her...

Quick questions:  am I supposed to be able to fight the bird at the lighthouse?  And is there a special ability I'm missing which lets you open the locked doors/chests?

What you may want to do with farmers is:
a) use them as a part of a "slave party"
b) wait till you get subclasses so you can up their stats that way

You will end up fighting the bird, but first you have to get to the back of the lighthouse.
Things like locked doors will be unlocked when you find keys on later floors/ later in the game.

Thanks again!

If you're referring to the statutes I think you mean, check the Sadhouse.
