I'm gonna listen

Cool, I could always use a new podcast to listen to at night.  But looking over the podcast description for this week, exactly how does this podcast differ from Radio Free Nintendo, except that it has a different cast?

StratosJuly 23, 2009

They just deal with news. It will probably branch off a bit differently as it evolves.

Ok, I just had to re-read that synopsis, as for some reason I thought I read something about a "review" of Little King's Story, not just a news story on it.  Ok, all well and good then.

Just finished listening to it, and i must say it is a great addition onto the already stunning NWR podcast collection. Looking forward to more news information in the future.

Broodwars, they just talked about it being released now in America and such, with good information about it as well.

I really hope it's not going to be called "Flava' in yo ear Cho Aniki Style".

Pretty much, except that we try to pick out the more significant news pieces that are interesting to talk about, since we don't want to keep our audience bored to tears. Ideally this podcast will have shows that last around half an hour, since there is only so much about news that you can talk about.

I really think that for a pilot episode this went really well.

I listened to the whole thing! Great show! Its a really nice addition to the podcast line up! Especially since RFN doesn't deal with news all that much. It flowed well and was always interesting. Nice to have it come out on the weeks RadioTrivia doesn't. What day are you planning to come out most weeks? Thursday? Also get a feed up so I can put it right in iTunes!

Excellent start and I am looking forward to many more episodes!

And if you where wondering Neal is going on vacation about 30 minutes from where I live and he says he is going to rob my house....

That's all hearsay!

I'm thinking I might shoot for Thursdays. Although it dawned on me as a new Radio Trivia went up that we're not opposite them right now. We're going up the same week. This will be remedied sometime during August by maybe two weeks of the show in a row.

I'll get the iTunes stuff set up soon. I've been crazy busy this week and am anxiously waiting vacation.

But everybody sit tight for the next episode in approximately two weeks. Like I said, I plan on working in a variety of staff members, so I don't know who'll be in the next episode.

Also, if there's any news you want to hear us talk about it in the next episode, shoot the feedback link an e-mail.

Awesome! I know how busy you have been, I have too.

I really did enjoy it. Two things.

I agree with 30 minute cap.

I disagree with bi-weekly. I think it should only be once a week. Not much news is coming to really fill the time .

Bi-weekly means once every two weeks, not twice a week.

Bi-weekly means once every two weeks, not twice a week.

No, Bi-monthly is once every two weeks. Bi = twice.

(Wonders if someone will make a 'Bi' joke)

No, bi = 2.  semi = 1/2.  So it's every two weeks.

Still gotta check this out, but I like the fact that it removes RFN from the news equation.  News has always been occasionally shoehorned into the podcast, and now that doesn't have to happen any more.

I like how Neal had trouble pronouncing my last name.

I promise you it won't be the last time. Eventually it'll get ingrained in my memory. Or I'll just call you Luke.

King of TwitchJuly 25, 2009

I likes this. Just the right length, non ranty, just the facts.

Mop it upJuly 25, 2009

So these are going to be around thirty minutes? That's a lot more manageable than the regular podcasts, maybe I'll actually be able to listen to this sometime.

Flames_of_chaosLukasz Balicki, Staff AlumnusJuly 25, 2009

Yes, we will try to keep it in the 30 - 45 minute range. Ultimately, the goal is to keep it 30 minutes long since we filter out some of the less significant new and try to retain the interesting pieces of news so that we can have a good discussion about it. If you noticed the weakest thing we had to discuss in the pilot episode was about 5 Spots Party for WiiWare.

What is this??? Downloading...

Whenever i have trouble with their surname i just replace it with Surname or Lastname.

Luke Lastname. I like it.

I'm thinking since we're going with the bi-weekly format, we'll only discuss worthwhile WiiWare/DSiWare games. So in future episodes, 5 Spots Party has no place.
