Quite. However, if that's all we get I guess I'll preorder just to toss it at people.

TAKE THE COIN BOY!

How about I get the game early for pre-ordering instead?

Why not a Galaxy soundtrack?

This weak coin doesn't top my PN03 glasses.

UltimatePartyBearOctober 08, 2007

I'll preorder 100 copies for a 1-up and call it health insurance so it's tax deductible.

GoldenPhoenixOctober 08, 2007

I think this is a neat preorder bonus. I've never understood how someone can call a free bonus lame, would they rather have nothing?

PaleMike Gamin, Contributing EditorOctober 08, 2007

I would rather have that same exact coin with a code on the back of it for free Wii Points.

NinGurl69 *hugglesOctober 08, 2007

Cuz NP has a history of awful subscription bonuses. Stuff I'd rather not get in the mail, yet there's no option in the online store to just get the lame magazines without some forsaken Player's Guide or Pokemon T-shirt. They have soured my outlook.

I wish for bonuses that are COOL COOL. Like an artbook, soundtrack, making-of DVD, 12"x12"x12" mushroom, or even a plush toy of the new Star-guys in Galaxy.

Getting NO BONUS would be all right, cuz then they wouldn't have wasted my time, brain pulses, and forum text.

MashiroOctober 08, 2007

I would kill for such bonuses Pro666 . . . I remember when SCII came out how it came with a beautiful art book and soundtrack if you pre-ordered. I wish more companies (especially Nintendo) would do such things.

NinGurl69 *hugglesOctober 08, 2007

I like my Tales of Symphonia artbook. No surprise, it's also from Namco.

CalibanOctober 08, 2007

Yeah Nintendo is usually either lame or non-existent on pre-order goodies, heck I don't even recall any recent special editions for a Nintendo game, and no, gold cartridges or golden discs don't count, those are also lame, I'm willing to pay for a special edition of Mario Galaxy, MP3 (I want the Samus Aran helmet just like Halo 3 fans got their Master Chief helmet), Brawl, etc, and now they are giving me a coin...it's not even something that I can exchange, is their some kind of currency in Toad land that is viable on Human land arrrgh, but I do like Pro's idea of getting the game earlier for making the pre-order.

NWR_pap64Pedro Hernandez, Contributing WriterOctober 08, 2007

To be honest, Nintendo has NEVER been the type of company to go all out with game releases so it doesn't bug me whether we are getting something or not if we pre-order Mario Galaxy. It WOULD be annoying if they have given out amazing gifts beforehand.

EntroperOctober 08, 2007

Well, it was nice to get a gold cartridge for pre-ordering Ocarina of Time, and it was very nice to get the OoT/MQ bonus disc for pre-ordering Wind Waker. The coin kinda pales by comparison, but I still think it's cool. Would like to see what it looks like.

CericOctober 08, 2007

Little do you know that like Star Tropic the Coin is essential to Move to the end of Galaxy, Unlock DVD playback and, have harddrive support. It is the size of a Gamecube Disc and is loaded into the Wii DVD Drive to unlock its power and might. Now your playing with power Super POWER.

Silver? SILVER? Mario coins are golden!

RizeDavid Trammell, Staff AlumnusOctober 08, 2007

our poor brain pulses

Why would they go for a silver Mario coin? Does it come with a P-switch as well?

EntroperOctober 09, 2007

The silver-ness puzzles me, as well. I understand that they don't want to give us actual gold, but something like the Sacajawea dollar would have been nice.

KDR_11kOctober 09, 2007

Hell, there's loads of collectible Mario figure series in Japan and some include gold coins. Probably plastic painted golden but still better than silvery metal for this purpose.

Chode2234October 09, 2007

I got a Zelda OoT/Master Quest gamecube game with my pre-order of Wind Waker. Who says they never give anything good?

KDR_11kOctober 10, 2007

I got that with my non-preorder copy of Windwaker.
