Nintendo Hopes to Create Stronger Ties with Overseas Developers

According to Nintendo, a relationship with these developers will be crucial on the next generation of gaming.

Nintendo needs to create stronger bonds with overseas developers in order to present a diverse selection of games, company president Satoru Iwata noted during the recent Financial Results Briefing.

Capcom Comments on Mega Man's Popularity in Japan and North America

Capcom USA reveals some insight into why developers in Japan think Mega Man doesn't appeal to North America.  

A bit of commotion was started in the gaming world when Capcom community manager Seth Killian stated in a interview that Capcom Japan doesn't believe Mega Man is popular in North America. To seek answers why Japan has this view, a fan created a thread on Capcom's community forums concerning the subject. New Ocarina of Time 3D Trailer and Website Debut 3DS

Short new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time features Epona, Ganondorf, the Master Sword, Zelda, and more.

A new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D was recently released by Nintendo.

Link is seen slashing his way to victory as both a child and an adult in the new video. The Triforce symbol also makes a lovely guest appearance.

The official North American website also opened today. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D hits store shelves on June 19. Watch the trailer below.

Wii Successor Could Use Flash Memory and 25GB Discs RumorWiiU

The latest word is that Café will not have a hard drive.

The Wii follow-up is set to contain eight gigabytes of on-board flash memory and will not use a hard drive, sources have allegedly told gaming blog Kotaku. The new system, which is scheduled to be revealed at E3, may also use a disc format that can hold 25GB of data.

Four titles and a Mario Kart bundle confirm retailer reports.

Box art for the budget-priced software line dubbed "Nintendo Selects" has appeared, confirming earlier retailer reports.

The first four titles in the Nintendo Selects line include Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers, Wii Sports, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, another purported discount title, was not pictured.

Before the month is over, Nintendo may be lowering the price of the Wii and reissuing select titles at bargain prices.

A factory fresh Nintendo Wii will be retailing for a MSRP of $150 before the month is out, according to anonymous retail sources in contact with Kotaku.  Along with the price cut, Nintendo will unveil a line-up up of budget titles, falling under the banner “Wii Select.”

Xenoblade Chronicles Rated by Australian Classification Board Wii

Nintendo apparently plans to release Monolith Soft's RPG outside of Europe.

The Australian Classification Board has issued a rating for Xenoblade Chronicles, indicating that Nintendo may be planning to release the Wii RPG in the region. The listing states that the board gave the game an M (12+) rating and has Nintendo Australia as the applicant.

This Week in Nintendo Downloads 5/2/2011 Wii

The first update for May features everything from runners to hairdressers.

This week sees six new games throughout all of Nintendo's downloadable game services.

The WiiWare game for this week is Bingo Party Deluxe from Ateam Inc. Up to four players can participate in various game modes based around Bingo, such as 75-Ball Bingo and 90-Ball Bingo. The title can be downloaded for 500 Wii Points ($5).

Voice Actor's Website Says Xenoblade is Coming to USA RumorWii

Xenoblade Chronicles may see a release in North America this fall.

Xenoblade Chronicles is coming to America, according to a blurb on English voice actor Peter Dickson’s website.

The upcoming action RPG, which has been officially confirmed for a European release, will include the original Japanese voiceovers along with a newly recorded English audio track.  Peter Dickson will have a role in the new recording, which is being headed by Nintendo of Europe.
