THQ and Nickelodeon Announce "Videogame First"

Two original games will be released for GameCube and GBA, then expanded into multimedia franchises by Nickelodeon. Licensing in reverse!

THQ and Nickelodeon are already putting their newly strengthened relationship to work with a "Videogame First" program. With Nickelodeon's input, THQ will publish original games on next-gen systems, with the purpose of creating an audience for those properties that Nickelodeon can later utilize by creating TV series and movies based on the games.

Nintendo's new Doubutsu Banchou flyer contains some great game info, plus has a cut-out design to fold and glue into your very own cubic Animal!

Although some great GameCube software flyers have graced the internet recently, Planet GameCube now brings you the full Doubutsu Banchou flyer! The full flyer folds out revealing a continuous pattern adorning the front and back which when cut out and assembled makes a Animal Leader cube, complete with Panda and Hyena faces and including Bone and Paw flesh items!

Harry Potter to land on GameCube this fall. GC

A few brief details have been given regarding the game's title, developer, and release date.

CVG reported a few new details on EA's Harry Potter game for GameCube today. It seems that the project is actually based on "The Chamber of Secrets" and is being developed by British developer Eurocom. Potter fans may be somewhat disappointed to hear that the game still won't see release until November 15 of this year.

Is Sega's first GameCube soccer effort worthy in the eyes of the Cross Reviewers?

Virtua Striker 3 ver. 2002 wound up coming just short of a dendo award with a score of 29/40 (7 7 7 8). It's by no means a bad score, but it would have been nice to see GameCube games continue their hot streaks of dendo awards.

Also reviewed this week was Konami's WTA Pocket Tennis, which recieved a meager 25 (6 5 7 7).

Sega to Hold Game Jam 2 in Japan

According to Dengeki Online, Sega will be holding its “Game Jam 2 in Tokyo International Forum ~ Spring Collection” event in Tokyo on March 30 and 31. Rune Gets a Release Date in Japan GC

It’s time to mark your calendars. The first GameCube “card action RPG” is coming to Japan in two more months.

GameCube Inside reported that Rune’s official release date in Japan will be April 25. It will be priced at 6800 yen (around $55) and take up 2 blocks of one memory card.

At the Jisedai World Hobby Fair, Nintendo has been giving out these promotional handouts on Fire Emblem: The Sealed Sword. Check them out here!

GC-Inside has managed to scan the Fire Emblem: The Sealed Sword handout that was distributed at the recent World Hobby Fair.

Fire Emblem: The Sealed Sword comes out on March 29th for a suggested retail price of 4800 yen. A manga based on the game (but set from a different perspective) is currently running in Shounen Jump.

According to Quiter, Skip Ltd., a start-up game company is currently working on an untitled RPG that is set to be released in Japan around Christmas 2002.

Mr. Kenichi Nishi, who has worked with Square on such games as Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger is said to be leading the project.

Following the footsteps of Animal Forest+, Nintendo will include a memory card with Kyojin no Doshin.

According to GameCube Inside, Nintendo will include a memory card with Kyojin no Doshin. The price (6800 yen) will not change.

On a side note, GameCube Inside also reported that the release date of Koei’s Battle Houshin will be delayed a week, and instead be in stores on March 29. Kemco’s Batman Dark Tomorrow has also been postponed till summer.

Pikmin Commercial Song Musical Score GC

Now you can bond with Pikmin by singing or playing their song.

Collaborating with Nintendo and Toshiba Emi, KMP released the musical score of "Ai no Uta" last month in Japan. "Ai no Uta" is the theme song played in Pikmin's commercials in Japan. The musical score costs 500 yen (about four dollars), and includes three versions: piano solo, guitar accompaniment, and duet with piano accompaniment.
