Majesco Teams Up With Cartoon Network

Today Majesco announced a new licensing deal with Cartoon Network to publish three Game Boy Advance titles based on the network's original series. Guess how many GameCubes were sold in the UK in just two days? 75,000! Now guess which game sold the most, and it wasn't a Nintendo published title...

According to the latest NOE figures, the Nintendo GameCube has sold over 75,000 units in the UK during the first two days.

The best selling title for GameCube was Rogue Leader, with Luigi's Mansion, Super Monkey Ball and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle closely following. These four games also took the positions 2-5 in the All Format charts with 2002 Fifa World Cup as the top title selling on all 3 formats.

Nintendo Europe have found some truly unique marketing ideas for the GameCube. First revealed at the Cube Clubs, now it has made its way onto the Italian catwalks.

Models in Milan were painted with designs of Donkey Kong, Mario, Star Wars, Pikmin and Wave Race using a new type of paint, Latex Art. This is applied to the body and dries to form a fabric-like layer after thirty minutes.

Resident Evil 0 Details GC

GC Inside reports that Konami TYO is currently making a new Winning Eleven game for Gamecube.

Konami TYO (originally KCE Tokyo) officially announced that their transition to next generation platforms ended this past fiscal year (3/2002) and that they are now working to establish title brands. Along with this came the announcement of its first Gamecube title, the latest in the Winning Eleven series. While details are unknown, GC/PS2/PS/GBA are the platforms they are supporting.

THQ has announced they signed a deal with Disney/Pixar to make games based on the their next 3 movies. THQ has acquired the game rights for "Finding Nemo," "The Incredibles," and "Cars."

This deal allows THQ to make games based on these movies until 2008 for the PC, as well as Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft consoles.

Tomb Raider Talent Creates RPG for GBA GBA

Three members of the Tomb Raider team have left Core Design to form Gatehouse Games, and develop Spiralstone, a multiplayer RPG for GameBoy Advance.

Nintendo and HAL Laboratory will be holding the Smash Brothers DX Orchestra Concert on August 27 in Tokyo. The New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra will perform melodies from classic Nintendo games such as Zelda, Metroid, and Mario. Tickets will cost 3000 yen (around $25 US) and go on sale on June 17.
