And surprise, it's a Star Wars game.

Ubisoft and Lucasarts to bring the EPIC Star Wars® Trilogy to Game Boy Advance

London - July 13, 2004 - Ubisoft, one of the world's largest videogame publishers, today announced it is developing a videogame based on the blockbuster Star Wars Trilogy for the Game Boy® Advance in cooperation with LucasArts. Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force is set to release late September, 2004 to coincide with the launch of the highly anticipated Star Wars Trilogy DVD.

Developed by Ubisoft's Montreal studio, Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force will challenge gamers to adventure through the most exciting and memorable scenes from the classic Star Wars Trilogy, controlling Luke Skywalker as he becomes a Jedi Knight, taking part in unique co-operative single-player and competitive multiplayer modes, and participating in other memorable Star Wars-based tests.

"Star Wars is a great franchise for videogames, being such an exciting, moving and rich universe," said Florence Alibert, marketing director at Ubisoft EMEA. "We are excited to have the 'best of' Star Wars on the Game Boy Advance with Star Wars Trilogy: Apprentice of the Force. For every movie fan aged 5 to 50, it will be the perfect gift and a 'must-have' for this Christmas season.

Why not just port the Super Star Wars games over.

ATimsonJuly 13, 2004

Maybe they're trying to get the game to be a bit more... realistic this time around?

Bill AurionJuly 13, 2004

I don't see that turning out anywhere near pretty on the GBA, then... >_<

DjunknownJuly 13, 2004

Nintendo gamers once again get to visit the original trilogy for the umpteenth time.

I have faith in Ubisoft Montreal, they're on a roll, but still.... can they move on here? Oh well, nothing like promo-materials.

Replace 'Star Wars Trilogy' with 'Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island 1 and Monkey Island 2' and I would care about this. Clicky Clicky adventure games would be amusing with the d-pad.

I'm tired of Star Wars games and I'm tired of Tom Clancy's "Squad has a bum rash while saving the president from ninja's" games. Hurray, UbiSoft!
