EVERTON AND ENGLAND FOOTBALLER WAYNE ROONEY TEAMS UP WITH EA SPORTS TO LAUNCH THE UK'S No.1 SELLING GAME 'FIFA FOOTBALL 2004'

Chertsey, UK. - October 28th, 2003 - Electronic Arts, the world's leading interactive entertainment software company, held a special retail signing with Everton and England football star Wayne Rooney at the HMV store in Church Street, Liverpool, on Monday evening to celebrate the launch of FIFA Football 2004 from EA SPORTS.

FIFA Football 2004 is the UK's No.1 selling game (*source ELSPA) and Rooney, who features in the new game alongside his Everton and England teammates, was on hand to meet hundreds of FIFA Football fans who had travelled from all over the North-West region to meet him. Rooney personally signed hundreds of copies of the new FIFA Football game as well as autographs for his fans.

Rooney said: "It's great. Last year I was playing the FIFA Football game against my mates and this year I am actually one of the players in it. At least this means I can now play footie with my mates again, even if it's not in the street."

EA SPORTS recently signed an exclusive deal with Rooney. The Everton and England centre forward is one of several young and upcoming British football stars signed up by EA SPORTS to help provide the FIFA Football game designers with access to the best British sporting talent to ensure that it has the correct realism and authenticity in the videogame marketplace.

"We are delighted to be working with Wayne Rooney," commented Glen O'Connell, Spokesman for EA SPORTS. "Wayne is undoubtedly one of this countries most gifted young players and is also a keen videogame player. FIFA Football is the most authentic and realistic football game around. We had no hesitation when making the latest version of FIFA Football that Wayne Rooney needed to be included in the starting line-up for his club and country within the game."

EA SPORTS also currently runs a series of grass roots football-training program in Liverpool, Bristol, Birmingham, London and Manchester. The program teaches young children between the ages of 11 and 14 to participate in a series of real-life football matches and skills in conjunction with their schools and junior clubs.

EA SPORTS supports the development of these areas by helping with fund raising and supporting the training of coaches. The scheme is part of EA SPORTS' desire to ensure that children and young adults are enjoying outdoor sporting activities in addition to enjoying videogame simulations.

FIFA Football 2004 is the latest version of the world's best selling football videogame series and was released on Friday 24th October for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, the XboxTM video game system from Microsoft and the Nintendo® GameCubeTM. It is the number one game of choice for football game fans in the UK.
