Fans of the original Soul Calibur now have even more to look forward to in the sequel.

Earlier today, Namco announced that Seung Mina and Sophitia, two female combatants featured in the original Soul Calibur, will be added into the console versions of Soul Calibur 2. Despite the popularity the two fighters held in the original (especially Sophitia), both warriors were noticeably absent from the arcade version of Soul Calibur 2. New pictures of both women are available here, whereas recent shots and descriptions (in Japanese) of a few modes that will be in the home version can be accessed by clicking the link at the top of the page.

Hmmmm. Both characters are attractive females. I wonder why these characters were so popular.

mmmmm... Sueng Mina

It'll be interesting how they'll incorporate Sophitia. If I remember correctlty, she lost her gift by...... ermmmm... how shall say this? She gave birth a to a child (insert act here) and her sister Cassandra decided to find Soul Edge. But since they're already including the likes of Link, Heihachi and Spawn, what 's a little more 'stretching' the imagination? And really, who pays attention to story lines in fighting games anyway?....

Looks like Namco is looking to bring out the best fighting game EVAR. Now if they could only put online play.....

Gee, and Rock's nowhere to be found.

I guess that designers weren't able to see enough panty shots, so they brought back and redesigned Mina and Sophie to give them all the fan service they wanted. While the truly interesting characters like Rock and Lizardman are left to rot on the sidelines.

Sad really.
