GC Inside reports that Konami TYO is currently making a new Winning Eleven game for Gamecube.

Discuss it in Talkback!

Konami TYO (originally KCE Tokyo) officially announced that their transition to next generation platforms ended this past fiscal year (3/2002) and that they are now working to establish title brands. Along with this came the announcement of its first Gamecube title, the latest in the Winning Eleven series. While details are unknown, GC/PS2/PS/GBA are the platforms they are supporting.

Contra was rumored to be in development for Gamecube, but the latest game seems to be in development for PS2 and GBA only. Konami TYO's PS2 lineup for this term also includes Genso Suikoden 3, Silent Hill 3, and Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side. For GBA, Castlevania: Byakuya no Kyousoukyoku (White Night Concerto) will be released very soon. It seems they only have 1 GC title in production.

Winning Eleven has the FIFPro License so it contains the real names of world cup players. The PS2 Winning Eleven 6 sold a record 400,000 copies in its first week. The GBA version of Winning Eleven is now on sale.
