Konami makes the World Cup breakfast bigger with ISS2 at Bar UMBRO

Konami, the world class producer of football video games, is to team up with Umbro, Samsung and Umbro.com for a unique initiative throughout the World Cup. Konami will showcase its latest football masterpiece - ISS2 - on PlayStation 2 and Xbox at Bar UMBRO, a dedicated World Cup venue in London, throughout the competition.

Up and running in time for the first match on May 31st, Bar UMBRO will be the only place providing football fans with around the clock coverage of the World Cup to fit into their schedule. Enabling fans to watch live games from 7.30am, or full early evening re-runs, visitors can also replay the big games themselves in ISS2 challenges and be guaranteed the best atmosphere in town.

Bar UMBRO will be based out of Bar Monaco on Shaftesbury Avenue, London and will be staffed with the most knowledgeable people in town, offering up to the minute results and stats on the tip of their tongue or on a wall chart nearby. Serving simple football-friendly food and drink all day and night, it will be the only venue in the UK where fans from all nations can come together and enjoy the greatest football spectacle in the world.

Martin Prothero, Head of Marketing and International at UMBRO said: "It's fantastic to have Konami and ISS2 on the team for Bar UMBRO, it's a really exciting venture and excellent fun for football fans from all nations. We genuinely believe that no one understands football more than ourselves and we wanted to give something back to the fans to prove that."

Jon Murphy, UK Marketing Manager for Konami, enthused: "The Bar UMBRO concept was a hit with us straight away and we know it's the perfect venue to showcase ISS2. We're looking forward to entertaining the masses throughout the World Cup."

ISS2 is the arcade-orientated companion to Konami's phenomenally successful Pro Evolution Soccer. A fast-paced football title, ISS2 marries immediacy with an intuitive and comprehensive control system. ISS2 is released for PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Game Cube on May 3rd, priced £39.99. The Xbox version will follow on May 10th, priced £44.99.
