Sadly, the News Editor will still not be able to get one of his roommate's half dozen "immersive" Giratina.

A pair of profitable Pokemon mobile titles are getting ahead of this week's Legends Z-A release with some major impending updates.

In a post on the Pokemon website today, it was confirmed that several updates to Pokemon TCG Pocket are planned to expand the pool of tradable cards (adding "2 star" and "shiny" cards to the existing tradable rarities), and a "sharing" feature will be added to allow for lower rarity cards to be sent to friends once a day no cost. The "Wonder Pick" will also be enhanced to prioritize missing cards from the collection and show quantities on hand for the pack.

Pokemon Go finally detailed the level update arriving Wednesday announced at the end of August as well: the new experience curve will see any trainer level 23 or higher go up at least one level, and it will only take about 203.5m experience to reach the new cap of level 80 (pending completion of tasks to be confirmed): for comparison, it previously took 176m experience and task completion to reach the prior level cap of 50.

Oh ho! Heck yeah! Glad there are more trading options. Around a week before the new Deluxe Ex Packs released, I had finished getting every diamond and 1 star art cards for all the sets. All Dex and Deck missions were complete. I had also completed all Solo Battle objectives and only had one non-Secret Mission left. The Lake of Rage requiring a Shiny Gyarados. I was opening Lugia packs to see if I might get lucky there and when the Deluxe Ex packs hit, my pack points were at 950 in the Wisdom set. I could do a ten-pack opening and then cash in the points for that Gyarados but I've been unsure of doing that since I'd like to save some ten-pack pulls for the next set and still debating whether I should I try one more on this Deluxe set for the chance at some of the rare cards or not. So far, the two times I've done it were a bust with nothing special beyond a 1 star while I actually got a Shiny Giratina and two-star Mewtwo just from regular pack openings. Meanwhile, I've missed out on the two-star Buzzwole, Palkia, and Lillie in Wonder Picks but I did get the two-star Mew in a Wonder pick.

The only money I've spent has been the regular subscription fee for the extra pack opening a day and the bonus missions that come with it. Have had 6 months worth of that. However, my desire for some of the cards in this Deluxe Ex set has had me feeling like maybe putting some more money in with the gold bars to try opening more since I don't see how one could even complete the Dex Missions this time around for both emblems in time and, while its a gamble, it would add up pack points so I might get a couple of the other wanted cards in this set before they disappear. On the other hand, kind of disappointed at this limited availability for the set and not sure I want to reward that.

But now knowing there could be trades for these rarer cards makes things more interesting in that decision.
