From Software gives us some info about Rune and its next RPG for GameCube.
Last week GameCube Inside had a chance to talk to representatives from From Software about Rune and Gold Star Mountain. According to From Software, Rune, GameCube’s first RPG, has been in development for about a year. Game development has ended, and the game is now in production to meet its April 25 release date in Japan. The card based RPG Rune features a versus mode, which makes room for tournaments in the future. Players can expect around 20 hours of play time. However, representatives stated that there are lots of cards to collect, and to collect them all will require 30 hours or so.
Regarding From Software’s second GameCube RPG, Gold Star Mountain, representatives commented that the development staff is currently working on the systems and rules. The game is about 30% complete. From Software further added that since it is their second game on GameCube, development time should not require a full year, and that we may expect the game to be ready for a fall or winter release.
