Weekly Famitsu has announced that Tomy will release a new GameCube game scheduled for a summer release in Japan, tentatively titled 'Zoids Vs.' Although shown in an early form, this Zoids themed mecha combat action game is looking nice.

Gameplay will revolve around multi-mecha combat in a variety of environments using a two versus two team system. A judge will preside over the combat battlefield, awarding points for victories and otherwise monitoring the battle.

Anyone familiar with the Zoids franchise will be pleased to know that favorites such as Liger Zero and Redhorn will be included among more than 40 pilotable mecha.

Although the format of Zoids Vs. would appear to be a natural candidate for four player combat, further details regarding play modes and number of players have yet to be released.
