GameCube Region Switch Mod, Successful!

by Rick Powers - November 14, 2001, 3:39 pm EST

Rick had a long day today trying to get everything just right for a successful GCN mod. And patience pays off!

We were one of the first websites to tell you about the GameCube mod (props, of course, to the folks in the IGN forums that tipped us off to it first).

Now we have a fully switch-modded GameCube in house, courtesy of the always hard working PGC Labs.

We'll have pictures up when our bandwidth crunch is alleviated (we broke records on our server load over the past couple days), as well as notes on how to go about a successful mod of your own. But trust us when we tell you that having a GameBit is only half the battle. The right kind of wire is critical, as is good solder and a fine-tipped soldering iron.

But for now, Rick needs to get his Monkey Ball on.
