Pre-Launch Thoughts Part II

by Billy Berghammer - September 12, 2001, 9:05 pm EDT

Tick tick tick....less than 20 hours away the wait will be over. More thoughts and news about GameCube launch LIVE FROM JAPAN!

Word is that retailers across Japan have their stock of GameCubes and its software in place and ready to go. There's a few stores in Akihabara which have demonstration units finally available for play. What game do you think they are showing? Luigi's Mansion of course!

Surprisingly there's still a lack of GameCube promotion happening. Some stores are just beginning to put their displays up today. I really have no idea why. This may make life easier for me for camping. Less people to battle with for a Cube. Heheheh. Not that I'm a violent person in the least...but when 7am hits....look out. Kidding.

So here's the basic gameplan for the last couple of hours. I leave for Akihabara in a few hours to check out the scene, talk to retailers, and see which store will be the best to camp at. Hell there could be people camping already, but I'm not sure. 7am is the earliest I think stores will be opening their doors. Hopefully it will be earlier. You think I really want to wait any longer? Hells no.

We should have a couple updates through out the night here. Its going to be that, and some mad GBA gaming. I'm going to try and sleep, but I'm not sure if I will be able to. I can barely eat right now. Fortunately the typhoon has diverted to Taiwan or something...so it's not supposed to rain until 10am tomorrow. By then...it really doesn't matter. I'll be rocking out with people I met in my ryoken on the one communal TV we have here. This is if everything goes according to plan....keep them fingers crossed.

As you can tell I'm more excited than I was yesterday. This is definately helping me cope with all that's happening back at home. Continue to monitor PGC for up to the minute updates from Akihabara! WORD!
