As you probably already know, Cartoon Newtork and Toonami are running a contest called "Lock Down," sponsored by GameCube. Since many don't have the joy that is Cartoon Network, and the full version is very rare anyway, I (TYP) decided to start videotaping commercials at peak times. Unfortunately, I always got the version without the GCN logo.

But late last night my prayers were answered. Unfortunately, I wasn't expecting the ad to pop up--let alone in its entirety, so I missed the beginning (though that isn't too important).

Of note is the change in the GameCube logo sequence from the Japanese version. Paying homage to its predecessor, the obviously CG GameCube is first seen rotating about its center. It then starts to spin randomly into a GameCube logo. The standard Toonami announcer states, "Brought to you by NINTENDO GAMECUBE: Born to Play." There is no strange noise like in the Japanese ads. Interestingly, the ports in the back and even one of the vents are missing! Nintendo will probably fix that for their own ads in the future....
