GameCube just for kids? Not quite says Amusement Vision president Toshihiro Nagoshi!

Sega’s Amusement Vision division seems pretty happy to be working on a Nintendo system. AV’s president, Toshihiro Nagoshi’s personal enthusiasm has been well documented, but with SpaceWorld approaching he couldn’t help but further explain his support for the Cube:

“I think just about anything can be developed on the GameCube. Naturally Nintendo appeals to a younger age category, and that's partially why we decided to develop for them. But not all of our GameCube titles will be geared towards children. Virtua Striker 3 for example, was seriously being considered for the PlayStation2 because of its older user-base. However, since the GameCube has relatively few sports titles in development, we thought it was the right platform. Our entire staff fell in love with the GameCube when we first received development kits, and I think players will too. Even if Nintendo is perceived as catering to a younger audience, GameCube will win over players of all ages.”

Nagoshi-san has confirmed that Super Monkey Ball will be playable at Spaceworld later this month. Unfortunately, he refused to comment on whether Virtua Striker 3 would also be playable. Amusement Vision has previously confirmed plans for another GameCube title, it's currently unknown whether the game will be unveiled at Spaceworld.
