Konami Passes on Space World

The largest Japanese third-party says it will make no GameCube announcements at Space World, and is focusing its efforts on the fall TGS.

We contacted Konami of America today to see what they had lined up for Space World 2001. They told us that Konami would be showing a couple titles for Game Boy Advance at Spaceworld, but there would be no GameCube games shown or announced at all. Furthermore, the company's heavy-hitters, such as Hideo Kojima, will not be present at the event.

The publisher is throwing all its resources into the fall Tokyo Games Show, which takes place just a couple weeks after Space World. They haven't ruled out GameCube announcements for that event, but they also haven't confirmed any.
