Sega sets the payment structure for the Dreamcast's Phantasy Star Online v.2, which could affect the GameCube version too.

According to GameSpot, Sega will charge $15 (USD) for three months of online play. SegaNet subscribers will not receive any kind of discount. The price of the actual software has not be announced yet, but some there is some speculation that the disc itself will be fairly cheap to compensate for the online fee.

The GameCube version of PSO v.2 is due shortly after the system's North American launch in November. So far, neither Sega nor Nintendo has even confirmed that the GC port will feature online play, much less that it will follow the Dreamcast version's online fee system. However, this newest announcement is probably a good indicator of what you can expect to pay if you want to join in on the PSO fun with your GameCube.
