Nintendo has announced prices for all kinds of GameCube peripherals, including controllers, memory cards, and hookup cables. DigiCards for ten bucks, OH MY GOD!

Thanks to a fantastic tip from reader Ethan Pearson, we now know the prices (in yen) of several GameCube peripherals. Nintendo Company Ltd.'s website now has the following information (as translated by Excite, with yen-to-dollar conversions by XE.com):

The GameCube controller will cost 2,500 yen, which is about $20 in U.S. currency. One will be included with the system.

The GameCube DigiCard memory storage device will cost 1,400 yen, which comes out to $11.21 USD! Additionally, each DigiCard will be split into 59 memory blocks, and of course different games will use different numbers of blocks.

The D-terminal video cord, which will be released only in Japan, is 3,500 yen or about $28 USD. Interestingly, Japanese users will still need separate audio cords, since the D-Terminal jack only transmits video data.

The component video cable is also 3,500 yen and will also require audio cables separately. This hookup WILL be released outside Japan for use with HDTV and other high-end televisions.

The S-video cable set (which does include audio cables) will be 2,500 yen ($20 USD). This is the same cable available for the SNES and N64, so if you already have one of them, you won't have to buy a new one for GameCube!

The audio/video stereo cables are again the same as their predecessors, and will cost 1,500 yen ($12 USD).

Mono A/V cables are just 1,200 yen, or $9.61 USD. You'll get mushier sound though.

The GameCube AC Adaptor is 3,000 yen ($24 USD) if bought separately, but of course one is included with the system. The blocky part is neither on the plug or in the system this time, but in-between. You can check our hardware profile for a picture.

There are several other peripherals listed, including the modems, WaveBird controller, and SD card adaptor, but none of them have a price or release date yet. Thanks again to Ethan for the awesome tip!
