ELSPA Console Forecast

Yet another company predicts the console rankings at the end of 2004.

Somehow, the European Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) has made its predictions on which console will be king in Europe, North America, and Japan, with some interesting results.

As expected, Sony Playstation 2 will take top spot according to the ELSPA. PS2 is expected to sell:

15.65 million (47%) in Europe

18.1 million (37%) in the US

12.3 million (45%) in Japan.

Xbox will sell:

10.99 million (33%) in Europe

15.16 million (31%) in the US

5.47 million (20%) in Japan

And the GameCube will sell......

6.66 million (20%)

15.65 million (32%)

9.57 million (35%)

That means GameCube will be third in Europe and second in the US and Japan. Quite interesting, as most would think the US would support Microsoft more than Europe. But any way you slice it, it will be a close race for second if you ask the ELSPA!
