Acclaim has announced its first five titles for GameCube – they won’t be at E3 but this is some great news! Get the list & our comments!

Last night, IGNCube reported back after some recon with Acclaim, who report that they (like many other third-party developers) will not have any GameCube on display at the show. However, Acclaim was all to happy to confirm it will release five titles for GameCube, all (tentatively) slated for release in November 2001.

We now have five more titles to add to the GameCube game list, profile and preview but believe us, we’re not complaining. These are some great GameCube title announcements:

Crazy Taxi – Hitmaker’s Crazy Taxi comes to GameCube with Acclaim no doubt eager to port this hit to other systems. Crazy Taxi rocks and although it will probably be just a port, it may benefit from the NGC’s graphical capabilities. Whatever the case, this will be a great release for GameCube & make some "CRAYYYYYZEEE MONEY!"

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 – Acclaim did pretty well with the first Dave Mirra BMX and now are prepping a sequel for GameCube, with more great extreme sports gameplay.

Extreme G 3 (AKA XG3) - When this game was announced for PS2, some almost made it sound like the franchise was disappearing from the Nintendo fold. Not at all, as Acclaim’s futuristic racer will hit the GameCube in style.

NFL Quarterback Club 2002 – Although the series has been hit or miss over the years, fans of the series will be happy to see Acclaim’s football brand, NFL Quarterback Club on GameCube.

All Star Baseball 2002 – Batter up! WOOHOO! Hands down, the best baseball console game around. ASB has been a quality name for baseball games for many years with each installment featuring numerous improvements over the last. The game looked great on N64, we can only imagine what it will look like on NGC.

What about Turok? Nothing official has been said yet, though it’s hard to imagine Turok not coming to Nintendo’s new system, especially with Acclaim already publicly supporting the GameCube with these five titles.

The November release for all of these games is tentative to change, though should re-affirm that this will likely be the time we see the NGC released stateside. As E3 draws ever closer, it’s quite possible we’ll hear a few more titles announced from other companies too. We’ll stay on the lookout and work on uncovering info until we can hook up with Acclaim at the show to get the lowdown.
