Nintendo's Vice President of Marketing George Harrison pointed to this in a recent interview...
When talking to IGNCube about a completely different issue (well sorta...), George Harrison was asked:
IGNCube: Do you have any estimate for the number of GameCube titles to be shown at E3 and, for that matter, to launch in the US later this year?
George Harrison: Around April 1 Mr. Miyamoto and others will sit down and start to make their decisions on which games are good enough to be playable versus on videotape at the show, so we'll have a better sense then. For the US launch, we don't know -- at this point it's hard to even say. I think at the outside probably 10 or 12 including licensees before Christmas.
Harrison has also mentioned that the Advertising push for the GameCube won't happen until August.
