Billy vows to never get a GBC.... yeah right!

This new chapter in the Nintendo story is getting REALLY good. Unfortunately it's going to get me to hold off on a Gameboy color. And I was really psyched about the new Pokemon one too. But why get a GBC when you'll be able to get a Gameboy Advance! Nintendorks has more about it's online capabilities as well as how it can connect to your new Dolphin. The next generation is really going to be amazing. ;)

The rumors have caught up. Nintendo announced today Game Boy Advance (temporary name). That's right, a 32-bit Game Boy! On top of that, they'd like everyone to know that it will form a joint venture with Konami, who will develop games for Game Boy Advance. The 32-bit RISC CPU is developed by the UK based ARM corporation, known for their development of CPUs for cellular phones. Connect two and two and what do you get? That's right, Game Boy Advance will be able to connect to a cellular phone to access the Internet, allow users to download game software, participate in multi-player games, chat and exchange E-mail. Sweet holy glory.

But wait, there's more. Moble 21 (the name of the joint venture with Konami), will also develop software Project Dolphin that takes advantage of the connection capability between Game Boy Advance and the Dolphin console. Moble 21 will be comprised of employess from both Nintendo and Konami.

Game Boy Advance will play software for both Game Boy and Game Boy Color (which rules out the disk-medium rumor), though games designed exclusively for Game Boy Advance will not be backwards compatible. Are you drooling yet? Well check out these preliminary specs for game Boy Advance:
