No really, that's what they're calling him.

Nintendo kicked-off their E3 Direct showing off the next DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, "The Hero" from the Dragon Quest franchise. Alternate skins for showed The Hero from various Dragon Quest games, specifically Dragon Quest XI, III, IV, and VIII. The trailer also featured an JRPG-styled attack menu for specials with skills from the Dragon Quest series like Snooze, Bounce, and Kamikazee.

The Hero will be available this Summer

So, like, not one of the alts is female. Dragon Quest IV lets you choose between Solo (male) and Sophia (female), and Nintendo chose Solo. /sadhorn

That's probably the one everyone chose.

Were all of the alts shown?

Probably? I feel like Nintendo would have shown others if there were any.

I’m hoping for female and/or villains for the remaining DLC characters. Give me Jill Valentine and I’ll just stop playing other games entirely.

They only showed 3 of the alts so it's possible the other 4 are female.
