SCi Plans for the "Great Escape." The movie was a classic - can it make a great game?

From Videogames.com comes this report I couldn't resist posting. There are "great" chances we'll see a game based on the classic flick "The Great Escape", the movie based on a true story of a corsageous & stealthy escape of P.O.Ws from a Nazi Prison camp. British software developer SCi successfully acquired the rights to the film from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and are planning versions for several next-gen platforms. Only the PS2 is confirmed, but GC is definitely possible / probable to see a port of this. The game will utilize stealth as equipment is gathered in preparation of the escape.

The classic flick featured Steve McQueen, James Coburn, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasance and others. Of course, most of the movie was simply digging a Biiiig hole under the camp (how this will translate to the game, I dunno) but it's still a damn good watch (i.e. if you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor & rent it). Then, sit back & stay tuned... We'll keep ya posted if this indeed does make appearence on Gamecube release lists.
