Not Hiroshi Yamauchi! We're talking about Nintendo's managing director Hiroshi Imanishi, who recently discussed last month's GameCube unveiling at Spaceworld with Core Magazine.

Core Magazine recently posted an interview with Nintendo's managing director, Hiroshi Imanishi. As one would expect, there are no real major revalations as Nintendo will continue to play coy with us for the next couple of months, however, it's still worth the read. Head over to Core Magazine's site and check out the whole thing...but first here's some stuff to whet your appetites.

Question: What do you think Nintendo will focus on in terms of the GameCube?

Imanishi-san: I think its so called 'dynamism' will be the key. Its GameBoy Advance connectivity is one example. We want to create an open ended system with GameCube. In that sense, aspects of the system will remain untapped even when it ships, so we can continue to experiment with new ideas and create new styles of gameplay well into the future. There is also the optical disc media. Our development team believes many other systems will use this type of media in the future.

Question: Do you think the GameCube will be easy to develop for?

Imanishi-san: Absolutely. For example, the Mario 128 demonstration shown at Spaceworld took Mr. Miyamoto only 3 days to complete after we finished the hardware. I was amazed. [laughs..]

Question: Nintendo insists there were no real games shown at Spaceworld though, despite the demonstrations?

Imanishi-san: True, and I think many people find that strange. However, the purpose of Spaceworld is to show off finished products. We thought it wouldn't be wise to show off the system and it's real capabilities almost a year before its release.
