German developer Cytek plans to bring Egalius and X-Isle to all next-gen consoles including the GameCube. Both titles are first person shooters of some sort.

Gamespot recently reported that German developers Cytek have two new games called Egalius and X-Isle that are planned for PS2, DC, X-Box and you guessed it, Gamecube. Egalius is a first-person action/shooter game aimed at the "moderate gamer" with various game play modes. It features the struggles of a main character named Jordain, who must prevent an evil genius from destroying the known Universe, using an artifact known as "Egalius." (Hence the name I guess.) X-Isle is a straight up first-person shooter where you are sent in to investigate the disappearance of marines who were investigating mysterious islands that recently appeared in the Pacific. Apparently, the islands are occupied by strange dinosaur alien creatures, who might have something to do with it… Currently, Cytek is negotiating with numerous publishers for distribution rights for both games.

The news isn't that big a whup & Gamespot had it up days ago. Still, it adds two more games to the ever growing roster of Gamecube software either in the planning or development stages. Not only that, Egalius & X-Isle will almost definitely be more adult-oriented, at least moreso than the Ubi Soft Disney software we reported on earlier today. Thanks to brand new Planet staffer, Jonathan Metts for pointing this out. Jon's also helping Ty & I getting previews together in top form and we'll see some of his writing soon. Our previews section is coming along too & will include details on X-Isle and all the other good stuff headed for GC/GBA. Stay tuned.
