LCD screens are no longer hard to find.

Last week we reported that the GBA would be delayed in Japan until spring of 2001 due to a shortage of LCD screens for the new unit. Well, this problem seems to be resolved. Magically Sharp ups there production levels. So why the delay? As we have been speculating for months...money talks. There is no reason to release the GBA if the GBC is still selling well. Here's the chunks of fun from FGN.

The recent shortage of LCD screens has led to a short supply of Game Boy Colors and the possible delay in launching Game Boy Advance. Now the problem appears to have been solved.

According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun Sharp has increased LCD production and Nintendo will be able to boost GBC production from 1.5 million to 2.5 units million per month. Sharp will also be producing its TFT LCD screens for the Game Boy Advance.
