And the ever-important stability, can't forget that.

Switch system software 4.0 has now launched, bringing some new features to the console.

The new software has enabled the promised video capture functionality to the system, though currently it is only supported in four games (Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Splatoon 2). Recordings can be taken by holding down the capture button, and clips last for up to 30 seconds.

A profile transfer function has also been added, which will include the transfer of save data to another Switch. The associated profile must be tied to a Nintendo account. Nintendo has provided instructions for the process.

Pre-purchase of digital titles has been added, though no titles currently have the option for it. News channel updates and the ability to update system software through a local connection have also been added.

Sounds like a pretty good update. Also nice to hear that videos can be posted to twitter

Wow! Didn't expect the video recording option until the paid service. System transfer is nice too, no reason to wait for the Switch Xl now.

Pre-purchase is great to see. I was expecting to have to deal with all kinds of crashes and error messages on the eShop next Friday at midnight.
