See, arcades were this place where you inserted quarters and...

Nintendo announced during their Nintendo Direct today that they will be releasing a collection of their Arcade titles called Archive Archives, with Mario Bros. serving as its first release.

Other titles coming include VS. Super Mario Bros, VS. Balloon Fight, VS. Ice Climber, VS. Pinball and VS. Clu Clu Land. Punch-Out was also seen in the Nintendo Direct, but was not included in Nintendo's press release. These will be developed by HAMSTER, who has released a number of NEOGEO arcade titles since the Switch's launch.

The first of these titles, Mario Bros., will be released on the Switch September 27th.

I'm actually pretty excited for these. Mario Brothers, Balloon Fight, and Ice Climbers especially. I wonder if these are a taste of what to expect from the monthly enhanced VC titles that will be offered with the online subscription.

I didnt even know there were arcade versions of these games. I like Balloon Fight, so that could be ok.

It's smart of Nintendo to keep finding ways to use all the parts of their gaming buffalo to make a profit but the only Nintendo Arcade Game I still like to play is Donkey Kong and I didn't see that announced among these titles. What gives? I did see it in Super Mario Odyssey though.  ;)

Would love to play the original Punch-Out! I guess Hamster did such a good job/found such success with the NeoGeo titles, that Nintendo wanted some of that action.

Will these games have online? Playing Mario Bros. in co-op is pretty fun.
