There might have been some stability thrown in there as well.

Super Bomberman R has received a major mechanical overhaul in an update now live on the eShop.

The update has increased the framerate for multiplayer including online, as well as improved the netcode and control latency improvements. The characters now move in traditional Bomberman fashion as well, sticking to the grid.

Additional camera controls have also been included in the patch.

This games sounds like it gets better and better all the time. I've been on the fence with the game, I'll probably pick it up at a discount soon.

This is one of the most impressive patches I have ever seen.

Yay! The AI was my biggest issue with multiplayer-- made it the opposite of fun!

Good on them for making (what sound like) some pretty substantial improvements in a reasonably timely manner. I think most people are so used to launch window shenanigans that Konami probably could have gotten away with doing much less.

Now if only they'd update the game with a more reasonable price, I'd get it!

Wow, if this is a patch, this must have been a very messy game at launch.

I feel from the reviews and impressions I've read, the game was a pretty huge mess and probably would have been delayed at any other time, but Konami probably wanted to push it out for launch, so they figured they'd fix it on he back side.

This is no longer as impressive, though likely a good choice.  Digital Foundry did their typical testing and found that the main multiplayer modes, when docked, do run at a solid 60 fps now.  However, the resolution has also been downgrade from 1080p to 720p.  Likewise, the 720p resolution of handheld mode is also reduced.  For a game this simple, I think this is kinda sad.  Still, I have had issues with overhead in realtime programming myself, and developers are generally having difficulty with higher resolutions and frame rates when using Unity.

Also I'm pretty sure Konami's budget for this game was a bag of peanuts.

I'm considering this though it seems silly to buy a physical version of a game that has changed so drastically with updates. It isn't like DLC either. From what's I've read, Super Bomberman R is far improved by fixing the frame rate that it's like a different game now.

Maybe I should wait for Super Bomberman S.

Or Bombergirl.
