You're going to be building Play Coins again

The Mii Plaza will be updating later today with new games and a key update.

Today's Mii Plaza update allows for quick access to the plaza games, and Mii Plaza Premium owners can store up to 100 Miis for use in the Mii games.

The five new games announced are Slot Car Rivals, Market Crashers, Feed Mii, Mii Trek and Ninja Launcher, respectively racing, stock prediction, food making, treasure hunting and demon battling games. One of Slot Car Rivals or Market Crashers can be downloaded for free, while the others can be purchased in a discounted bundle later today.

Man, these Streetpass games.

I only have several of them and never receive streetpasses but even then playing all of them every day takes more and more time.

Glad they're trying to speed up the whole thing with Express Plaza

Wow.  the 100 StreetPass limit is... misleading.

You can still only tag 10 Mii at a time.  You have to go in, greet them, then send them to a "line" where you can play games with them later.  So, if you're at a Con or such, you still have to check your 3DS every five seconds so you don't miss a StreetPass. :(

ejamerSeptember 02, 2016

Wow, that's disappointing news.

(Actually it doesn't affect me at all. Biggest queue of street pass hits I've ever accumulated was 7, and that was years ago. It's a shame I can't street pass with Pokemon Go players.)

Correction, you don't have to "greet" them.

I set up my Homepass last night, then went to bed.  Woke up this morning to only 10 passes on each system.  Googled what was going on.  Misread someone else's description.

So, you get the notification "Hey, you got StreetPasses!" - When you click the gate icon, you're given three options (unless you've used your current StreetPasses in all the available games, in which case, you're just taken to the new StreetPasses).

"Keep Playing" - which is like cancelling out, allowing you to play whatever titles you haven't yet.

"Go to Plaza Gate" - Loads the next (up to) 10 Miis at your gate, just like before.

The third (new) option is "Send Visitors to line" - it pushes the new StreetPassed Miis to a line that you can then greet later, ten at a time.

So, you don't have to greet all the Miis, every time, but you *do* still have to fiddle with your 3DS every few mins in a crowded area.  The funny thing is, I'm not sure why they couldn't just automatically queue new StreetPasses to the Visitor's Line and let you retrieve them, ten at a time, when you have time to play. :(  Basically, automate the "Send Visitors to line" option. :(

The 100 Streetpass line sounds like Nintendo, as typical, missing the point.  What I want is if I got to a gaming convention or something is that I just hang out and the line at my gate just fills up to 100 and I don't have to do a thing.

Thats what was said in the Direct, but they could have been clearer about it.

Bummer about the 10 queue limit. When I was at Disney World I just checked in every hour or so and cleared out my "10+10" queues while waiting in lines.

Is there a consensus on which of the two offered games is better? I'm hesitant to pay money for the streetpass games and want to make sure the one I pick is a good one.

ShyGuySeptember 03, 2016

I chose Market Crashers! I'm gonna be rich!

Are there new hats or speech bubbles released with these games or are they just games to randomly mess around and play with? Are there Mii Plaza tickets to collect again?

I've been getting very close to finally wrapping up the Streetpass Plaza and then this release happens. I've retired two games to the vault (Monster Manor and Battleground Z), I've collected all Puzzle pieces, and I'm close to retiring Find Mii (have one last achievement to unlock in it). I've got 4 speech bubble backgrounds left to collect and have all the hats before this update. Flower Town I'm still playing in the hopes of finally growing 3 last breeds I haven't grown before but it's basically wrapped up with all jobs completed and tickets collected. Warrior's Way I still need to beat around 50-54 monarchs for the last plaza ticket. It's so frustrating all the people I streetpass who are not monarchs. Mii Force I need to beat the Arcade Mode on for the last plaza ticket there and I'm pretty much done with it. That just leaves Ultimate Angler where I have 2 last fish to collect for the final Mii Ticket in that game although I like it enough that I may keep playing to see if I can gold medal all fishing spots and complete the 100 challenge list. I'm at 92 complete and I figured if I was done with the other games, it wouldn't be a big deal to keep chipping away at that game with the streetpasses I collect. But now, if there are all these new games to start working away at, I may not want to keep spending the time on it. So, I'm kind of mixed on this announcement.

I got a new hat and bubble from Market Crashers

I don't get very many StreetPasses around here, and it's been dwindling recently as the 3DS starts to fade, so these things aren't worth it to me.

LemonadeSeptember 05, 2016

I also ended up buying the chef one. It seems fun from the tutorial. I havent got any play coins or streetpasses to use on it yet.
