The rare non-VC New 3DS exclusive appears this week.

Following a week of major action on the retail front, it's back to eShop normalcy this week in North America. The headliners are New 3DS exclusive Wind-Up Knight 2, a game published by Unity intended to show that the engine can work on the (New) 3DS, and for North America a legitimately free game (no DLC) in Humanitarian Helicopter. UPDATE: Humanitarian Helicopter is $10/$12, despite the Nintendo website showing free.

On the smaller end there's Hot Rod Racer, which I should have a review of by early next week, and both the Wii U and 3DS get Defend your Crypt which has the air of an Egyptian-themed Lode Runner to it. On the Virtual Console front, the Manaphy-less Pokémon Ranger game will hit the ground in North America and slay GamePad screens across the nation.

Europe's lineup is similar to North America's on the new game front, except for the Virtual Console. Since Ranger already came out, they'll instead pick up the odd puzzle platformer A Shadow's Tale (aka Lost in Shadow), which may be one of the last games ever published by Hudson Soft. There's also demos for two of last month's big retail releases, Mario and Sonic Rio and Kirby Planet Roboboboboboboboboboetc.

Talkback

I didn't expect Return to Popolocrois to get this kind of discount so quickly. I might just pick it up later today if it's $15 on the Canadian eShop too.

Blastball snubbed.

Fixed that.

Also fixed: The listing for Humanitarian Helicopter, which showed "Free" before, now says $10 US/$12 Canadian. #ThanksReggie

I will have to download Blast Ball. I had no idea they were releasing it early.
