The worst kept secret on Kickstarter is finally out in the open.

Comcept will be making official the delay of Mighty No. 9 during Gamescom, according to a post on the backer forums.

As reposted at NeoGAF, the delay will be announced during the show to the general public, and will be for all platforms and distribution methods. At this time, the game is aiming for a Q1 2016 release.

The post cites bug fixing, including issues pertaining to the game's online features, and also notes that half of the backers have yet to respond to the platform survey. A new survey will be sent closer to the game's release.

This gives them time to do at least 2 more kickstarters for this game and maybe 5 more for Red Ash.

I was so excited for this game at one point. It's borderline shovelware to me now.

Businessman gonna business, a wise man once said.

Oh hey, look at this totally awesome speed run! Guaranteed to make you want to run to get the game away as fast as possible from it.

*sigh* I put a lot of money into that Kickstarter, but at this point I'm just about done caring about this game. Clearly the game needed a delay, because it wasn't fun in the Kickstarter Beta a year ago, and from the looks of the latest footage that hasn't changed since. So naturally, Inafune lied about Mighty No. 9 being done to justify the Red Ash Kickstarter.

How can you essential be the people who make Megaman games and not be able to in a reasonable time to make a Megaman game.

This project seemed to have a ton of red flags from the get go - I never understood why people were dumping money into it like crazy. Then again, I'm probably still disappointed that it was taking all the KickStarter glory instead of Shantae.  Oh well.
