Sunday night in North America, but all day Monday in Japan.
The tail end of the weekend for North America will see some hefty Wii U and 3DS online maintenance.
Nintendo's network status page has updated to indicate major online maintenance starting at 6 p.m. Pacific time (9 p.m. Eastern) on Sunday evening, which will last until 4 a.m. Pacific/7 a.m. Eastern Monday morning. A follow up maintenance will occur from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Monday afternoon. During these times, "online play, leaderboards, etc" will be unavailable across the Nintendo Network worldwide.
As of yet, there is no word on whether or not the eShop will be affected, nor if a major firmware update could follow this as the second maintenance would end around the time new firmware has traditionally become available.
