Another giant in the toy industry wants to bring their toys to life through video games!

Warner Bros., Lego Set to Enter the "Toys to Life" Market

An article on VideoGamer seems to indicate that a Lego "toys to life" game is being developed for release later this year.

The rumored title currently is "Lego Dimensions", and will be developed by Traveller's Tales. It's set to rival Skylanders, the Disney Infinity line as well as Amiibo.

Tim Wileman, associate producer at Traveller's Tales did not confirm the story outright, but did hint at something big in the future for the studio, saying "So although I can't go into any specific details now, rest assured that is the case and we're always trying to push the boundaries. So watch this space."

Our Take: "Another big giant in the toy industry is heading to the "toys to life" market. It's quickly becoming the new sensation in video games. I wonder what will happen when the dust clears...who will end up getting the biggest market share out of all of these companies?" - Bryan Rose

"If there's any company that knows how to get people to buy toys, it's Lego. They're going to be a player straight away." - Donald Theriault

Konami Responds Further Regarding Metal Gear's Future

In light of recent news over the last several days concerning the future of both Hideo Kojima and Metal Gear, Konami has issued a statement regarding, well, one of those stories.

Regarding the future of the series, Konami stated that they "will continue to develop and distribute top-quality content in the METAL GEAR series following “MGSV: TPP.” We greatly anticipate and deeply appreciate your ongoing support for METAL GEAR."

They further added "As the next step in the series, KONAMI has already resolved to develop new “METAL GEAR”".

Whatever the future for the Metal Gear series is, with or without Hideo Kojima's involvement, Konami seems to already be starting work on the next series. They're already looking for production staff for the next title.

Our Take: "Is it just me, or is it all too convenient that Konami is putting out these job postings as soon as the rumors of Kojima's departure come to light? The story here is really heating up." - Bryan Rose

  • Get those teams ready, Australia and New Zealand! It looks like the Pokemon Video Game Championship series to due to start there in April.
  • The development team behind Super Cordon Blue have recieved a Wii U dev kit, so it looks like the upcoming title will be making its way to the system.

so people were saying Amiibo was getting into Toys to Life late in the game, sounds like they were just right on cue.

I'm still hoping this toys to life junk will crash and burn like Guitar Hero, but it isn't looking good...
