Share your challenge-filled platforming creations online next year!

Mario Maker, the upcoming Wii U exclusive, creation-centric 2D platforming game, will allow you to share your custom made levels online.

Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed Mario Maker's online support in an interview with YouTube personality iJustine, saying, "You'll be able to see what happens when other people play your course, or when you play other peoples courses... there'll be popularity rankings for the most popular courses and things like that."

While we assumed that this would be the case when the game was first revealed at E3 2014, Miyamoto's recent confirmation removes any shadow of a doubt.

Mario Maker is scheduled for release in early 2015.

Well, there goes my life. Gonna be playing this game endlessly now

This is all I cared about. I will be buying this game. I may a bit for the community to build stages.

If this were any other company aside from Nintendo, this never would have even been questioned. :D

I figured there'd be online sharing - I just hope there's a good system to filter out the good stuff from the crap. :D

I was pretty sure there would be level sharing, but the question was (and still remains) how well it'll be executed.

I predict this will last right up until Nintendo realizes the internet is full of creativity-deprived hikikomori who will make it their life's work to just recreate the entirety of previous Mario 2D platformers. After all, recreating 1-1 seems to be the life's ambition of these people in every other game out there with a level editor.

So yeah, we'll see how well or how long this will last.

I have a feeling that they'll have 1-1 as a sample level for that exact reason.

So... what sort of time to penis are we looking at here? I'm thinking three seconds.

Everything shared in the wild will first be approved by Nintendo.  However, I am sure you can send levels to your friends without needing to be approved...

MAYBE.

If people re-create previous mario levels, aren't they just doing Nintendo's work for them?

Why can't anyone ever create vagina themed stages?

I believe Takashi Tezuka all but confirmed level sharing at E3, saying it was "the whole point" of level creation so I wasn't worried about it being included. Nintendo's poor handling of Swapnote and Flipnote Studio raised some concerns over how it would handle user-generated content. Is Nintendo going to yank the service the second someone uses Mario Maker inappropriately? Without that component of the game, I don't care about it.

Yeah, the question still remains of how well it'll work and be set up.

If Nintendo have people who monitor Miiverse posts, I imagine they will also have people who monitor the publicly-available levels (should that feature exist).
