Co-founder Jools Watsham has delivered some cryptic tweets in the last few days.

Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham has taken to Twitter to tease fans in regards to its upcoming plans, including development of a new 2D title for 3DS and a possibly unrelated announcement slated for this Friday, May 9.

A May 4 tweet from Watsham revealed the new 3DS project, described as a “new experimental 2D game” that “has pixels and stuff.” He also said development of the game was “part of the healing process” following the failure of Cult County’s crowd-funding initiative on Kickstarter.

Watsham’s other relevant tweet came on May 6, telling fans “some stellar news” is on the way this Friday.

There is no definitive link between the two teasers Watsham has doled out, so it is uncertain as to whether Friday’s announcement will relate to this new game or one of the many other projects linked to Renegade Kid. Treasurenauts and Mutant Mudds 2 are in development with no concrete release date. Even Cult County is still on the table for release in some form, as Watsham has stated that the developer is "discussing other options" for the title.

The most likely possibility, however, is an announcement related to Moon Chronicles, the upcoming episodic first-person shooter for 3DS. A later tweet by Watsham noted that he had changed his header image, then asked, "I wonder why that would be?" The new header features artwork from Moon Chronicles.
