Marvelous AQL's next project is a 3DS simulation-RPG developed by Rune Factory series staff, this week's Famitsu revealed.

Forbidden Magma (Kinki no Maguna in Japan) was first teased on a countdown site, leading to today's reveal in Famitsu. Very little information has been revealed about the project, although more details should be given when the official site launches on February 17.

One curious aspect is the announced involvement of the Rune Factory staff. Neverland, the studio that created Rune Factory, filed bankruptcy and closed last November. It is unclear at this time if Marvelous AQL has hired on some of the disbanded team for this project. Rune Factory's series producer at Marvelous AQL followed the announcement of Neverland's closure last November by saying that the staff was "still doing great," possibly hinting at their involvement with Forbidden Magma. Rune Factory 5's continued development was also confirmed.
