Say goodbye to the season pass and hello to buying multiple day passes!

Germany's Gamescom show will be changing the way consumer and business tickets work for 2014, Koelnmesse announced on their website.

For the general public, season/weekend passes will no longer be available. Gamescom staff give a number of reasons for the change to Day Passes. They want to guarantee the event will move smoothly and according to plan, which they believe can only be achieved through daily passes.

The previous season pass was €32.00. The daily tickets were €6.50. The new Day Passes will be €11.50 for Thursday or Friday and €15.50 if you choose Saturday or Sunday. Be aware that tickets will be slightly more expensive if you decide to not pre-order.

Just like last year, Wild Cards will be offered in a special pre-sale. With this, a select amount of consumers will have access on Wednesday, 13th of August at 13:00 CET. This day is usually reserved for press and business visitors.

Business visitors will only be allowed Wednesday through Friday. They can opt for a day pass or a 3-day pass. It is unsure if the three day rule will apply to the press, though first indications seem to predict accepted press still have access to the entire week. This year's Gamescom will take place between the 13th and 17th of August.
