Prepare for a lot of new content in your Animal Crossing Miiverse community!

Nintendo has updated the exclusive Miiverse community, Animal Crossing Plaza, with two new features and promised more to come, as stated in today's Nintendo Direct presentation.

First up is the ability to decorate Miiverse posts with a variety of stamps, much like the ones in the upcoming Super Mario 3D World. Over 50 Animal Crossing themed drawings will be added to the Plaza's posting options, and multiple stamps can be combined or edited using the existing hand-drawing tools to make your own custom designs. Nintendo has announced that other Miiverse communities will have the stamp function added to them in the future. It should be noted that stamps will be tied to the communities they are featured in, so you will not be able to freely use them in different communities.

A new Ranking system has also been added, asking Animal Crossing fans to participate in online polls. This month's question asks "Who would make the best secretary?", while next month the poll will ask, "Who is the neighbor of the year?". A new poll will be added every month until the Plaza closes at the end of 2014.

A future update to the Plaza will add the ability to register each of your village's animal residents so that they will always appear when you launch the software (instead of a random chance of seeing them in the crowds), letting you quickly access posts about your favorite characters. You'll also be able to move and delete multiple album pictures from your New Leaf software at the same time, as well as save pictures from Miiverse into your Animal Crossing album.

The initial update will be available for free later today.
