Could we be seeing more of our favorite fish with a human face?

Nintendo has filed for two trademarks that may indicate a Seaman revival.

The registered titles are: Mysterious Pet: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face and Mysterious Partner: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face.

While Seaman is not explicitly named, the rumors of a new Seaman game combined with these oddly specific trademarks may very well indicate a revival. There is currently no official word from Nintendo.

Considering how cash strapped SEGA is at this point does anyone think it would be a good idea for Nintendo to finance Shenmue 3 as a Wii U exclusive?

Strapped for cash? In 201 they made a profit of $218 million. Not a huge amount, but still profit. Since they have no interest in Seaman though, they might do it for that reason

LOL. I didn't see the typo til after I posted, and we can't edit talkback posts anymore. I meant to say 2012.

I hope this is true. I would be down for a new Seaman game. Even though Seaman is an ass.

By me understanding of Seaman w/ the newer voice recognition tech it probably be a better game now and everyone has a mic with a WiiU so you wouldn't have to pack anything in.  It may be more interesting to see what it allows for later games.

Sure, if you're going to trademark an old Sega game that no one bought for a machine that no one's buying, you might as well trademark a Seaman game.  I mean, why would you trademark something people might actually care about like a new Skies of Arcadia game?

Somehow, I don't think the Wii U is what old Sega fans had in mind when they they wished they had a new Dreamcast.

Both Seaman games apparently were big sellers in Japan for some reason. That's why they made two of them.

Because the cancellation of the PC and other versions show that it wasn't really that iconic either?  I hate to say it but you'll probably get more return off of a $30 or so Seaman then Skies of Arcadia.

I seriously doubt the only thing standing between Nintendo and making a new Skies of Arcadia game is a burning desire to make a new Seaman game. If they were interested, they'd do both, it's not necessarily one or the other.
